Doha 2016 confirms Bid Committee line-up
Doha, 8 January 2008 – The Chairman of Doha 2016, Mr Hassan Ali Bin Ali, has announced the names of the Bid Committee’s Board of Directors and Management Team.
The members include men and women from the highest echelons of Qatari sport, politics, business and education.
Mr Hassan said: “I am delighted that these very eminent people have joined the Doha 2016 Bid Committee. Each of them brings enormous skills, experience and passion to the team. I very much look forward to working together with them to bring the Olympic and Paralympic Games to the Arabic-speaking world for the first time.”
The Board of Directors consists of:
- Sheikh Saoud Bin Abdurrahman Al Thani, Secretary General of the Qatar Olympic Committee
- Professor Sheikha Abdulla Al-Misnad, President of Qatar University
- Dr Abdullah Bin Ali Al-Thani, Vice Chairman of Education at Qatar Foundation
- Dr Khalid Bin Jabor Al Thani, Vice Chairman of National Health Authority
- Farid M. Al-Abdullah, Sport Facilities Director at QOC
- Eng. Nasser H. Al Ansari, CEO of Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment Company
- Hilal Jeham Al-Kuwari, Project Director of Aspire Zone
