School Olympic Year
In Qatar, the 2007-08 academic year has been declared the 'School Olympic Year'
The announcement was made by the Minister of Education and Secretary General of the Supreme Education Council (SEC) H E Sheikha Ahmed Al Mahmoud.
Chairman of the Doha 2016 Bid Committee, Hassan Ali Bin Ali, said: "This is a marvellous initiative by the Qatar Olympic Committee and the Ministry of Education. The children of today are being offered the chance of becoming the world-class sportsmen and sportswomen of tomorrow."
