The 2016 Olympic Games will promote sustainable development in Qatar.
Doha 2016 is conducting an international sustainable-design competition to achieve the most innovative technology for constructing the venues, Athlete’s Village, Media Village, and Main Media Centre.
The Doha Games will showcase new technologies in waste water reclamation, water conservation, and renewable resources. The Doha Games will be carbon neutral and will endorse a zero waste goal.
For many years, all mechanisms to protect its environment have been in place, and hosting the Games in Doha will have no negative impact on the surrounding environment, including air, water and the land.
