Full and unconditional government support

The Doha 2016 Olympic Games Bid Committee enjoys the full and unconditional support of the Amir of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani, the Crown Prince and Heir Apparent, His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, and all members of the government.

The ministries, national agencies and municipal governments, as well as the Qatar National Olympic Committee, are all working closely with the Doha 2016 Bid Committee, ensuring total coordination and cooperation in all areas.

The Amir has signed a covenant guaranteeing respect of the Olympic Charter, ensuring that the obligations of the Bid Committee are fulfilled and guaranteeing access to Qatar according to the Charter’s provisions.

His Highness has also signed an additional guarantee regarding “Contributions from Public Authorities”. In addition, His Highness, the Heir Apparent and President of the Qatar Olympic Committee as well as the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture have signed the covenant, guaranteeing respect for and compliance with all obligations set forth in the Olympic Charter.
