Brigadier Dahlan Jamman Al-Hamad, Chairman of Qatar Association of Athletics Federation

Brigadier Dahlan Jamman Al-Hamad, who is Vice President of the IAAF, is on the Board of Directors for the Doha 2016 Bid.

Brigadier Al-Hamad has a long history of sports leadership positions within and beyond Qatar. He was a Board Member of the Doha Asian Games Organising Committee in 2006 and was Chairman of the Organising Committee for GCC Athletics from 1986-2000.

In addition, Brigadier Al-Hamad is Chairman of the IAAF’s Sustainable Development Commission, President of Qatar’s Association of Athletics as well as the Qatar Military Sports Association, Senior Vice President of the Amateur Athletic Association (AAA) as well as its President for Development. He was also General Secretary of the Qatar Olympic Committee from 1999-2001.

A native Qatari, Brigidier Al-Hamad is also Office Director of His Highness Commander in Chief of Military Affairs.
