Hassan Ali Bin Ali is leading the team who will develop Doha's bid to host the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Mr Hassan Ali Bin Ali is a leading Qatari business figure and has interests in construction, pharmaceuticals, the energy sector, retail and manufacturing.

Mr Ali Bin Ali's father founded the Ali Bin Ali Group more than 50 years ago when he won one of the first contracts to supply goods and services to the then nascent oil and gas industry in Dubai.

As a child, Mr Hassan Ali Bin Ali was one of the first Qataris to be educated abroad - in the United Kingdom and Lebanon.

Hassan Ali Bin Ali was a competitive tennis and squash player in his youth and supports many sports in the region. He was the driving force in establishing national tennis squads in Qatar and founded the Qatar Tennis Federation.

Mr Hassan Ali Bin Ali has also worked closely with Her Highness Sheikha Moza Bint Nasser Bin Abdullah Al Misnad in building the Shafallah Centre for Children with Special Needs. The Shafallah Genetics Medical Centre is a one of the world's leading research centres for conditions such as autism.

He is also actively involved in disabled sport - leading the way in developing purpose built facilities for disabled athletes.
