Dr. Abdulla bin Ali Al-Thani, Vice President-Education, Qatar Foundation

Dr Abdulla bin Ali Al-Thani, the Vice President of Education at Qatar Foundation, is a member of the Board of Directors of the Doha 2016 Bid Committee.

Qatar Foundation, where Dr Al-Thani was appointed Vice President of Education in 2005, prepares students to take leadership roles in today’s increasingly global society. Dr Al-Thani sits on various committees and boards, and is also a member of the Board of Trustees of Qatar University.

Dr Al-Thani gained his PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Southampton in the UK and a Masters from Colorado State University. In 2003, he was appointed an assistant professor in Civil Engineering at Qatar University.
