Professor Sheikha Abdulla Al-Misnad, President of Qatar University

Professor Sheikha Abdulla Al-Misnad, President of Qatar University, is a member of the Board of Directors of Doha 2016.

As a member of the Supreme Education Council, Professor Al-Misnad is actively involved in reforming publicly funded education in Qatar. At the international level, Professor Al-Misnad is a member of several international bodies, including the United Nations University Council.

Professor Al-Misnad is also a member of the Board of Directors of Qatar Foundation and has been instrumental in the governance and leadership of educational institutions constituting Education City.

Professor Al-Misnad first studied Education at the University of Qatar before gaining her doctorate at the University of Durham in the UK. It was at Durham that she first became active in education issues relating to the Gulf area – in particular the education of women.
